The Sound of Music tour

Today I only had morning sessions at the Orff Institut, AND IT'S RAINING!!!  I understand this is quite common here in Salzburg, but I did not know that because it was so beautiful flying here last Saturday. Sunday was also spectacular! But the last two days you would not know there were any mountains nearby.

I had planned to take a bus to the Untersberg and then take the cable car up the mountain.  But that was not possible with the foul weather.  So I decided to go on The Sound of Music tour!  Well, I'm glad I did!  Our tour guide was named Peter.  I had to get a picture of him with me next to the bus, and we purposely closed our eyes...

I got to see many famous locations where the movie was filmed.  But one location that the bus tour was not allowed to go to was where the front of the house was actually filmed.  Are you ready for this???  It is the back side of Schloss Frohnberg, which is now occupied by the Orff Institut!!!!!  So I was able to walk there on my own and take this picture to complete my tour!
