Greetings!

Hi!  My name is Martie and I will be the one posting on this blog about my travels through Europe with my husband, Ed. We will be exploring for about two weeks and will visit Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, and The Netherlands.  It will be Ed's 60th Birthday on July 12th when he flies to meet me in Vienna, Austria!  I will be finishing up a week-long course at the Carl Orff Institut in Salzburg from July 6-12, 2014.  I decided to keep that experience separate from this blog, so I have set up a new page with my Orff Institut Summer Study blog if you would like to see what that experience was all about.

Just so you know, this is my first traveling experience in Europe!  I've always been a late bloomer, but better late than never!  Ed, on the other hand, has travelled abroad quite a bit in his lifetime.  So this adventure is based on the idea of exploring places that neither of us have ever been to before.  There is one exception which is our final destination:  Amsterdam, The Netherlands.  Ed has been there three times through his work travels, so when we finally get there, I will be ready to have a personal tour guide.

My goal with this blog is to post daily and give highlights as well as post one or two pictures of the day. I'm sure we will have hundreds of pictures, but I will figure out another way to share all of that with anyone who is interested.
